Discovery of the blog title

Holistic Serendipity encompasses all parts of a person; the mind, body and soul in a development of events by chance in a beneficial way (Online Dictionary). The title was inspired by my journey, growing up and discovering my talents in various places unexpectedly. With the assistance of my best friend and sister Andisiwe Mthengwane a journalist in the making and a friend ever available, (follow her blog @ www.blackboldvoice.blogspot.com), who has inspired me and my sister in so many ways. She is undeniably one in a million, a phrase best to describe her is 'A package sent from Heaven', she is our angel Gabriela. 

While daunting in the early hours of our vacation in 2011 December she thought of the word 'Serendipity' to best describe the concept of the blog, which to her was inspired by my discovery of writing. Along with Serendipity we established the word Holistic to be a perfect description of what the blog will focus on. There and then we were not certain as to what the blog will encompass, and what the main focus of it would be. It was only at the beginning of this year that I was enlightened a bit as to what Holistic Serendipity will entail, through discovering more about myself, about others and exploring the gifts of others. A discovery, a journey, promoting all good things that will serve as a motivation and inspiration to the followers. A journal of some sort, shared amongst a collective - a very intimate space shaped and shielded by the grace of God - He who I believe has stacked bombshells in each of us and timed them for the right season.

Holistic Serendipity, the story of my life! The story of your life! The story of our lives! Our chapter! Shared with others, to serve as an inspiration! To build, motivate and make a change! Showcasing each beautiful surprise embedded within each individual that will grace our presence in this blog. Spoken through a variety of forms of communication; word, poetry, art, music, fashion, business, nature, etc. This is a platform to bring out each person’s personality, character, walk of life, careers, dreams, visions and working towards a success thereof, bringing about change in the society. Success stories told by you!  Translated by me!

Anti-drug Campaign held at Downtown Boxing Gym!

Last week Friday, the Eastern Cape had the honour of being visited by the world's renowned referee of all times, Mr Tony Weeks, coupled with Layla MacCarter to have a talk around East London schools about the dangers of using drugs. They went around the schools in Mdantsane educating the learners about drugs and the effects they have on ones body. They also had another seminar which was held at the Downtown Boxing Gym, which invited university students to partake in the awareness. The BMF Student Chapter was one of the societies that was present, and various students. The SABC Sport was also there to broadcast the event, which will be aired this week or next. Where the students were interviewed as to what they learnt about the campaign, and an interview of the new boxer Leighandra Jegels will also be there.
