Called to heal! - Ubizo Luviwe Bhomela!

Motherwell A black mother to black sistas and brothas Feeding lost souls comforting broken hearts, Souls shaken and broken, I by your wrinkles attracted You look like you are heart broken, soul shaken, Your children by AIDS definitely taken. I saw rain falling on rich soils but your children are poverty stricken Figure belts are a fashion statement in a society where hunger blows blunts in court Caught between flesh and a nail Chronic illed by the chemicals we inhale Our judgement clouded by the dimes when we get paid Fathers get paid Alcohol the first aid to chemicals they inhaled Mothers kitchen clean, pots jive and salivate for rainbow chicken Taverns dance to the coin beats and high “notes” Papas in their fifties fill up tables, ground empties, A period for aunties to cash in and papa gets laid Cash got flushed on booze and “nunu” Kids drown their hopes in tears Moms cushion them with chest hugs against fears Toughies narrate the family tale A black mother to black sistas

Was invited by a good friend to Imbizo, same day after the BMF Breakfast. And guess who I bumped into *smiles* - Ipoetry Ka Nkqo in flesh, one of my favourite poets. He is so warm, kind and has a rich personality just like his work, felt like I was speaking to someone I had known for decades. And I had to get a picture! Cheeseeeeee!

BMF Women Empowerment Breakfast!

Image
On the 21st of this month. Mpho, Tsidy, Khens and I were invited to a Black Management Forum Breakfast Seminar, which was held at the East London Gold Club. Powerful talks were conducted, by one of the most prominent women in businesses. We were grateful and felt blessed to be in such presence. And we sure did learn so much and networked with those awesome beings for our future events. Big up to the BMF executive, for holding everything down till this point. We pray for many more!   Khens, Me, Tsidy and Mpho You can tell we had fun *laughs* The food was awesome                                                         Mpho and smiley *laughs*                                                                     Tsidy le smiley!

That state of clarity, That state of awareness, Of questions, Answers. Sifting through and diluting facts, Issues, Resolutions, And a way forwad determined. An awakening...A state of consciousness! Fear not of asking why, how, when, why and how to resolve a situation, That is how a conscious mind operates! -ANDISWA MADIKANE

Captivating piece - Written by Garthe Skye

A Little Musing This is just a short post about a realisation I had a few minutes ago... I don't know why but I was thinking about life and for some reason I compared it to making your way through a forest towards your destiny. I suppose that you are making your way towards your purpose. It came to me that a lot of people take the beaten trail that many before them have carved out. That to me is the easy route where you find very few obstacles blocking your path. But on that route there is very little beauty and hardly anything that can move you. I realised that I have never walked that path. I have never had anyone carve their way through a forest for me. I suppose that when I was younger I veered off course and started making my own way through that dark and mysterious forest. On the way I had to remove some pretty big weeds and cut my way through some bushes and even cut down trees that were blocking my path. It was all very difficult but that
