Humble beginnings

As I was walking around campus the past three months. I bumped into a guy with a very cool hairstyle. I was very reluctant in asking for a picture of this guys hairstyle at first, to put it on my blog. Nonetheless, I happened to meet him randomly and I thought this time I am going to be on his case *laughs*. I kindly asked to take a picture of his hair and explained what it was for. Luckily, he was kind enough to allow me. Little did I know what the inspiration of the cut was. Yes he was a fashionista, musician and a comedian. Talent that came as a beautiful surprise to me. I had to feature them on the blog. Him and his partners. Sixteen Merchandise is their brand name.

Sixteen Merchandize is a group of 8 guys who come from different backgrounds. Most of the members  are from Johannesburg. The group is involved in a variety of things such as sport, music, dance and comedy. They define themselves as the oyster's of Entertainment. In sport their focus is on soccer, cricket, table tennis and chess. Hiphop is the music they promote. They regard themselves as the best of both worlds. They are fashionistas, Musicians, comedians and are also venturing on sports in terms of design and promotion. It is no surprise that these guys regard themselves as the all rounders of entertainment, as they fit in almost any field.

Asked about their mission the Merchants postulate that they are aspiring to be a well-known brand and increase their sales percentage by 5% from what they are producing currently. Their vision is to own a recording company. Sixteen merchandise is a group that enhances the talent of youth through their brand and other programs and state that positivity and support is what drives the progress of the group.

The inspiration of the group name was established by one of their members Mongezi Mpange, who according to the group used to say sixteen jokingly. He and Thabo Matose then sat down to discuss what would follow the number sixteen; hence Merchandise came to the fore. These fellows are not alone in this establishment; they are coupled by their ever loyal partners by the names of Sivuyile Matose, Ludwe Mfundisi, Lindela Matshikwe, Ludwe Nkewana, Xhanti Mda and Robinson Mpholo.

What keeps them going is their mutual understanding, the music they listen to and above all their faith in God. They also mention the challenges they faced as a group, and in with dealing with business partners. How they lost money and wasted time, but that too did not stop them from continuing with their baby (16 Merchandise). They held their heads up high and fought back.

This is their message to the youth “What we would like to say the youth is for them to have Faith, believe in what you do and work hard, remaining the best at what you do and always do what your heart desires”.
Such motivating words stipulated there, by the 16 Merchandise. You can like their group on Facebook, and take it upon yourself to follow these celestial beings. I believe they have more to offer. Their pictures follow.
